Brondby have found their rhythm with Frederik Birk at the helm. Three wins out of three possible in the championship round is what they've achieved. On Friday evening, it could have been four, as the young coach's troops challenged FC Nordsjælland's goalkeeper Andreas Hansen to such an extent that he could have expected a spot on the team of the round. Brondby played themselves into several chances with quick and direct attacking play. But the net didn't bulge once at Brøndby Stadion, as the two teams played out a 0-0 draw in Friday's Superliga match. It's the first goalless draw between the two teams since 2012. Brondby could have taken a big step towards the top of the Superliga with a win, and would have been just four points behind FC Midtjylland and two points behind FC København. The three points were almost in the bag after 13 minutes, when young Clement Bischoff showed great vision and played Mathias Kvistgaarden free on the edge of the box. No one saw the pass coming. It caught the defense off guard and surprised several Brøndby players and fans. Kvistgaarden shot, but Andreas Hansen came out of his goal and made the save. After half an hour, it was almost a goal again, as a cross had Nicolai Vallys as its target at the far post. But Tobias Salquist got in the way and directed the ball just past the post, breathing a sigh of relief. The two teams went into halftime at 0-0, and Brøndby continued to challenge the status quo in the second half. After an hour of play, Mathias Kvistgaarden was played completely free in depth and was alone with Andreas Hansen, who once again saved his team. The young Brøndby striker had four shots on goal in the game, but none of them resulted in a decisive goal. In the 67th minute, it was Nicolai Vallys who had the chance to break the deadlock, as he shot from the field. But once again, Andreas Hansen made a great save. In the other end, there was more calm around the debuting Brøndby goalkeeper Gavin Beavers, who got 90 minutes on the pitch in the absence of quarantined Patrick Pentz and Thomas Mikkelsen, who was in the doghouse after the tumult in last week's derby against FC København. The young American had safe hands every time there was a problem. And that's always good for a point. That's exactly what both teams got out of the game. It ended 0-0 at Brøndby Stadion, which means there are no changes in the table.
